Experienced engineering executive and entrepreneur with a successful track record in both the financial services industry and the U.S. Intelligence Community — in companies ranging from start-up phase to Fortune 100. Currently, responsible for leading software engineering for Capital One's enterprise data transformation initiative. This includes developing cloud-native solutions and platforms for streaming data, data lake, on-demand compute, data warehouse, data management, data governance, business intelligence and machine learning. The suite of data management tools handle regulatory and internal policy compliance for all data and am responsible for presenting our data ecosystem features to government regulators and examiners.

Lead a team of nearly 1,000 associates and contractors with a budget of $120MM+. Responsible for hiring and developing executives to run portions of the overall engineering effort. Work with senior company executives and other key stakeholders to determine priorities and enable four (4) distinct lines of business (LOBs) to leverage the new data ecosystem as platforms come online -- creating a self-service environment so that LOBs can onboard quickly and at their own pace.

Previously founded, led and successfully exited a software company after serving as its CEO for ten years. A hands-on engineer with expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and distributed systems. Frequent presenter at major technology conferences. B.S. and M.S degrees in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Computer Science from Virginia Tech.
