The challenge of data literacy is manifold: How do we define it? How can we measure it? And, if there is a competency gap, then how can we improve literacy? In search for answers, we explore the multiple dimensions of data literacy - beyond the capability to read and interpret data, it is also about critical skills, fact-checking, sourcing data, understanding bias, visualisation, etc - and we discuss an open-source framework that would allow measuring data literacy for individuals, organisations, and society. So that data can unleash its potential for all of us, and not for a few.
